BUTTERFLY - Ringlet
The Ringlet butterfly (aphantopus hyperantus) is a small-medium sized, bown butterfly with black spots. This one was spotted in an area of damp grass and buttercups on the side of some woodland. This is their perfect habitat as they prefer areas which are shaded or close to shade.
Its latin name comes from hyperanthos, meaning 'above flowers', which makes the above scene we captured it in quite apt (if not the best quality picture).
