This Meadow Brown (Mariola Jurtina) was snapped in a field full of buttercups in August 2024.
The Meadow Brown is a very successful buterfly across the UK and Ireland, because its larvae feeds off such a wide variety of common flowers and plants, from daisies to thistles and ragwort. Therefore, it can be found everywhere from farmland to parkland and in gardens.
