The Coal Tit

Today I got my first photograph of a Coal Tit. We do seem to have a number of the birds that visit the hedgerows around the corners of the garden but they tend to swoop in, dart around in the undergrowth and swing right back out, never really sitting still.

This makes it very difficult to get a good profile shot of one. However, I was lucky enough to get this picture today of one eating a slug (I think).

They are easily identifiable by being small and more black and white than the other birds of the same size, and they have a distinctive black and white stripe on the back of the head.
