BIRD: Greenfinch

Since around 2017 we started to see Greenfinches in the fields near to our house. Numbers appear to have dropped off slightly from 2020, but it is good to see what was a rare bird making a comeback on the North Coast generally.

These are photographs we captured of a male and female Greenfinch respectively. They are quite bold birds but a little too inconspicuous for predators, as they are relatively large and brightly coloured, and tend not to move off as quickly as other birds when approached.
